Community Art Program
Cultivative's International Community Art Program is initiating and executing projects worldwide in partnership with local institutions, mostly other non profit organizations. Through the process from idea to completion of these projects the group of volunteers and participants from the local communities can explore their own creative potential while experiencing the benefits of an active community. Participants with less experience can easily be integrated and very often discover their hidden talents or passions while experimenting in the safe framework of our community projects that are always led by experienced artists to ensure a successful project and results that the members of the group will continue to be proud of for years.

NEWS
Cultivative, Camp D&D and Villa Per Se celebrated this weekend with the unveiling of their “A Voice for Our Ocean” mural, a project that spanned three month and brought locals together in the name of mindfulness and harmony with nature.
Colegio Villa Per Se was packed with people on Saturday for our free community mural workshop. More than 125 children and residents picked up a paint brush and helped to bring a stunning new mural to life. The public art project is orchestrated by Villa Per Se, Camp D&D and Cultivative to bring more art into the Villa el Salvador neighborhood.
We had our first on-site meeting with Villa Per Se to elaborate the mural theme in November 2017, and instantly fell in love with their innovative curriculum of mindfulness practices. For our community mural we outlined the idea for interconnectedness with nature, and establish a deeper sense of taking care for the closeby beach through a lesson plan.
The last panels of the Antioch Community Mural will be installed at the Antioch Health Center on Friday, April 28, from 9am to noon. Visitors will have the opportunity to talk about the project with lead artist Bianca Nandzik. She will be on site, to install the mural that was painted on wood panels, and do the final touches directly on the wall.
Going abroad, it seems that most artistic volunteers are looking for a new adventure, international experience and inspiration in other cultures.
This short video gives a flavor of the atmosphere during the creation process of this outstanding mural.
This Friday lead artist Bianca Nandzik and the hospital's director Dr. Raymond Cherington officially unveiled the mural together with the hospital's staff and representatives from the local TV station.
We are happy to launch the project webpage that contains everything related to our current community mural project in Coxen Hole, Roatán (Honduras). You will find all of our blog posts about this project there as well as an image gallery with photos from the community workshops that illustrate the creation process.
Most of the preparation work for the mural at the General Hospital has been completed by now and we welcomed the first members of the local community to paint this mural within the next two weeks.
During the first day of the project in Coxen Hole our team was interviewed on site by reporters from Channel 27, a local TV station on the Island Roatán where the hospital and mural are located.

The environmental message of this one-block long community mural at Villa Per Se in Lima, Peru will inspire the connection with nature and will provide a tangible reminder of the beauty, power, and resourcefulness that exists within the local community. The mural will be painted directly onto the concrete wall by more than 200 volunteers under the guidance of lead artist Entropy in May 2018.
